Description: Support Staff -- Accounts Receivable Specialist/Cashier, Part Time

Reports To: Assistant Controller/Bursar

Salary Range: Min. $16.65 per hour based on qualifications and experience; Paid Leave Time Benefits

Position Summary: This individual is responsible for providing quality customer service to students, faculty, staff, administration, and third-party entities. Assists in supervising and overseeing the College's accounts receivables, student accounts, and cashiering functions. Primary duties are to receive and apply cash, check, and credit card payments for tuition, fees, bookstore charges, all miscellaneous and student activity payments, and third-party sponsor payments, as well as process all general receipts college wide. Post electronic and payment plan payments.

Required Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent; minimum two years of accounts receivable and billing/cashiering or equivalent office work experience; experience with PC-based accounting systems and spreadsheet/database applications; keyboarding, ten-key, and basic math skills; strong organizational skills, attention to detail, ability to problem solve, work independently and use professional judgment; excellent communication and customer service skills; ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment; and ability to work some evening and weekend hours as assigned. Preferred Qualifications: Associate degree in Business or Accounting; completion of additional computer/business/accounting college courses; knowledge of community college programs/services; and previous experience at a college or university.
