POSITION SUMMARY: The Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for providing financial, administrative and clerical services to ensure efficient and accurate Accounts Receivable operations. Duties include processing daily invoices correctly and monitoring incoming payments actively. Detailed month-end analyses are required for the Accounts Receivable ledger and other related GL accounts. The Accounts Receivable Specialist must comply with established policies and procedures, established regulatory directives, policies, and approved business practices. This position actively participates with the team and assists in creating a positive work environment. The Accounts Receivable Specialist possesses excellent written and oral communication skills, manages all AR processes and interacts professionally with customers and management. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES AND PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Generates and distributes invoices timely and accurately.
  • Is responsible for maintaining AR aging and payment report, while highlighting noncompliant accounts.
  • Performs AR account reconciliations to ensure proper payment allocation and resolve discrepancies.
  • Provides excellent customer service.
  • Reviews and approves out-going freight and commission invoices.
  • Assists with month-end closing, including key account analysis.
  • Supports Commercial Finance and Sales Teams as needed.
  • Maintains customer files and records.
  • Collects data and prepares key metrics, including dairy market and sales pricing.
  • Assists Financial Controller with AR process and control initiatives.
  • Prepares and distributes internal and external reports as assigned.
  • Ensures transactions comply with policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for filing system of all AR documents
  • Ensures the confidentiality and security of all financial files.
  • Assists in other duties as assigned.
POSITION SPECIFICATIONS/QUALIFICATIONS: Education:
  • High School Diploma/GED or Equivalent work-related experience required.
  • Associate's or bachelor's degree in related field preferred.
Experience:
  • Preferred: 2-4 years of Account Receivable experience
  • Preferred: 1-2 years knowledge of dairy industry
Skills and Abilities
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Extreme attention to detail
  • Demonstrates excellent MS Office skills including Word, Outlook, Excel, Power Point
  • Capable writer and oral communicator
  • Ability to highlight relevant information and suggest appropriate actions.
  • Able to write reports and prepare/deliver presentations.
  • Highly self-motivated individual comfortable working individually
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines within the context of a fast-paced, busy environment
  • Ability to establish good relations with all levels of employees
Physical Requirements:
  • Subject to up to at least 92db's
  • Lifting: up to 20 lbs. occasionally
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, on a regular basis
  • Reaching: Extending hands and arms in any direction.
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist occasionally
  • Talking: Expressing or exchanging ideas by means of the spoken word. Those activities which must convey detailed or important spoken instructions to other workers accurately, loudly, or quickly
