Accounts Receivable Specialist – Brooklyn, NY

Preferred Home Care a fully licensed Home Care Agency serving the NY Metropolitan area including Nassau and Suffolk counties, is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist who is a team player, detail oriented, familiar with payer portals and a creative problem solver.

POSITION SUMMARY:

A Billing and Accounts Receivable Specialist performs a wide range of clerical functions and administrative duties specifically related finance operations that include, but not limited to areas such as ensuring that revenue is tracked accurately and reported to internal decision makers in a timely manner. The Billing and Accounts Receivable Specialist is responsible for collections and cash applications in addition to month-end accounting and reporting. The Billing and Accounts Receivable Specialist collects assigned accounts by contacting customers through email and telephone; investigates circumstances of non-payment and negotiates to resolve conflicts and expedites payment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Billing and Accounts Receivable information systems/programs required
  • Experience applying cash and processing remittances
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel (v-Lookups, h-Lookups, pivot tables, etc.) with proven success using accounting software and databases
  • Experience with identifying payer denials, resolving root issues, and resubmitting claim
  • Ability to accept direction and perform given assignments
  • Ability to define problems and tasks, collect data and establish facts, take action and facilitate resolve
  • Prior Experience working with HHA Exchange is a plus
