Your core responsibilities
  • Utilize customer pricing agreements to collect on outstanding balances in a timely manner
  • Assist in the improvement of cash collections by identifying trends within the AR department
  • Openly and consistently communicate any irregularities, trends, or concerns to management
  • Continually follow up with management and other departments to ensure efficient processing
  • Gather and present weekly, monthly, and quarterly reporting data for the AR department
  • Evaluate denials and partial payments and determine if further reimbursement is valid
  • Submit appeals within relative state Workers' Compensation guidelines to facilitate payment from customers
  • Develop and maintain relationships with carriers to track and target aging accounts to meet performance standards
  • Identify and request adjustments to customer accounts as necessary per Workers' Compensation guidelines

Minimum must-haves
  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • 3+ years of experience in workers' compensation collections and appeals required
  • Strong working knowledge of CPT & HCPCS codes, modifiers, and ICD9-10 codes
  • Solid understanding of individual state Workers' Compensation guidelines and fee schedules and their impact on billing and collections is required
