ACCOUNTS RECEIVABLE SPECIALIST We seek a dedicated Account Receivable Specialist responsible for all aspects of medical billing and accounts receivable management. This includes charge entry, payment posting, follow-up, and collections in accordance with practice protocols, with a strong emphasis on maximizing client satisfaction. Key Responsibilities:
- Review and process all outstanding aging balances over 30 days for assigned accounts, following organization policies and procedures, including follow-up, collections, and appeals as needed.
- Monitor reimbursement from all assigned insurance carriers to ensure consistency with contract rates.
- Follow up promptly on all returned claims, correspondence, denials, account reconciliations, and rebills to achieve maximum reimbursement while prioritizing patient satisfaction.
- Demonstrate proficiency with all facets of the EMR software system, including patient registration, charge entry, insurance processing, advanced collections, reports, and ledger inquiry.
- Provide cross-coverage for team members during their absences to ensure efficient practice operations.
- Maintain organized information regarding coding, insurance carriers, managed care networks, and credentialing for easy reference.
- Exhibit excellent communication skills with both internal and external customers.
- Handle stressful situations calmly and productively while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Adhere to strict confidentiality standards and comply with all HIPAA requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or higher preferred, or equivalent to 3-5 years of experience in medical billing.
- 3-5 years experience in medical billing and A/R management
- Proficient in NextGen (Professional Billing Module) is a definite plus.
- Understanding of CPT/ICD10 coding and insurance carrier requirements.
- Excellent communication skills with internal and external customers.
- Ability to manage stressful situations calmly and effectively.
