Accounts Receivable Specialist Work: Hybrid Salary: $60,000-$65,0000 Benefits: Health, dental and vision insurance, 401K Job Summary Standard Forwarding Freight is seeking an experienced Accounts Receivable Specialist to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will have strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and preferably experience in the transportation/LTL industry. This role is responsible for managing accounts receivable operations while ensuring accurate and timely processing of all customer payments and accounting transactions. Key Responsibilities
- Process and post customer payments, wire transfers, and credit card transactions in accounting system.
- Manage collection efforts by monitoring aging reports, following up on past due accounts, and resolving payment discrepancies.
- Reconcile customer accounts and investigate discrepancies, including freight bill adjustments and pricing disputes.
- Generate and analyze accounts receivable reports to identify trends and potential issues.
- Collaborate with sales, customer service, and operations teams to resolve billing inquiries and disputes.
- Maintain accurate customer files and documentation for audit purposes.
- Process credit applications and conduct credit reviews for new and existing customers.
- Assist in month-end closing procedures and financial reporting.
- Support special projects and process improvement initiatives as needed. Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field, or equivalent work experience.
- 3 years of accounts receivable experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
- Experience with ERP systems and accounting software.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a lean, dynamic accounting environment. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in transportation/LTL industry.
- Knowledge of transportation management systems (TMS).
- Familiarity with freight billing, revenue recognition, and rating processes.
- Experience with credit and collections in a B2B environment.
- Experience with transportation management software (TMS).
