ESSENTIAL DUTIES, FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Complies with and supports all Shiprock Associated Schools' policies and procedures.
- Integrates the school philosophy, vision, and mission statements into area of work.
- Greets, public, receives incoming phone calls, date stamps all incoming mail daily.
- Prepares monthly close-outs to ensure consistence and accurate reporting.
- Prepares journal entries as needed to post to general ledger for accurate reporting.
- Receives cash and checks with supporting documentation; counts and inspects cash receipts for correct amounts, payees and endorsements; and restrictively endorses checks.
- Prepares a three-part pre-numbered cash receipt for the amount received. Issues the original to the payer, attaches copy 1 to the supporting documentation, and retains copy 2 in numeric file. Records date of receipt on supporting documentation.
- Reviews supporting documentation for mathematical accuracy, completeness and reconciles it to accompanying cash receipts. If cash receipts do not agree with supporting documentation, resolves difference.
- Verifies all transactions and complies with SASI Financial Policies and Procedures.
- Places cash receipts in cash register, safe, or lock drawer until further processing.
- Prepares the Cash Receipt Summary to reconcile the amount of cash receipts to the cash receipts form. Investigates any difference.
- Prepares a bank deposit slip in duplicate and files the bank deposit slip copy.
- Submits supporting documentation, cash receipt summary and the original deposit slip to Business Manager for review.
- Posts all receivables daily to the general ledger in Infinite Visions.
- Reconciles credit cards statements and deposits and prepares adjusting journal entries on a timely basis. Resolves related issues and problems promptly.
- Maintains files for audit preparation.
- Acts professionally, maintains good attendance, is punctual and dependable.
- Participates in designated trainings and meetings and uses knowledge and guidance from them.
- Presents accurate information and uses clear and effective written and oral communication.
- Prepares reconciliation for credit cards to ensure payments are accurate.
- Assists as necessary with audit reporting during annual audits.
- Safeguards and secures all information with confidentiality.
- Attends all required trainings and related meetings.
- Assumes responsibility for professional growth through on-going program trainings, professional developments days, licenses, and/or advanced coursework at institutions of higher learning.
- Performs other duties as assigned, within your scope of practice.
MANDATORY MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONSExperience:Five (5) years of direct work experience. Two or more year's successful experience with accounts payable and general ledger.Education:Associate Degree in Accounting or Business-related field or five (5) years of direct work experience.Mandatory Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and Other Qualifications:
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal relationship skills.
- Knowledge of inventory/warehouse organization.
- Proficient with Infinite Vision accounting software.
- Must possess strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Must work with minimal supervisions.
- Ability to organize and prioritize work and to meet deadlines.
- Must have or able to obtain First Aid/CPR certification and a Navajo Nation food handler's permit.
- Must pass federal background check required per 25 C.F.R. Part 63.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Business-related field.
- Bilingual (Din/English).

Overnight travel may be required.While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to: walk, sit, use hands and fingers, reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. May be required to stand for long periods.
