Math classroom teachers and test prep tutors:
Are you a tutor who is deeply invested in the success of your students? Do you wish you could make a larger impact on your students by teaching them to love and appreciate math in addition to the test prep you do?
We are a boutique tutoring company looking to add test prep tutor to the team. The ideal candidate would have experience working with high schoolers with learning differences and several years working as a high school math teacher (if you're not certified but have experience with LD, I'd still like to talk to you).
Pay is highly competitive for the test prep industry and also involves profit-sharing.
Philosophy
The ideal candidate is someone who believes that the best way to prep for the tests is to develop the underlying skills of math problem-solving (because it develops the student's college readiness in addition to raising scores).
If you think that...
... then I think we'll be a good fit.
Responsibilities
The tutor will conduct private test prep sessions for the ACT and the SAT, focusing on the math and STEM portions of the test (Math for SAT, Math and Science for ACT, though this is negotiable to just Math if you're really strong in that area).
These sessions will be scheduled by the tutor according to their preference for frequency and duration. The tutor will conduct sessions virtually via Zoom.
Students will usually have learning differences of some kind, most notably dyscalculia - so tutors should be prepared to differentiate their instruction to suit the learner.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate has:
If this sounds like you, I'd love to chat with you to see if we're a good fit.
If you're a soloprenuer with your own company and clients and you'd just like to take on a subcontracting role, then I'd still like to talk and explore that.
