POSITION SUMMARY:
The primary purpose of your job is to assist in the planning, implementation, and evaluation of recreational, social, educational/intellectual, cultural, physical, emotional and spiritual programs, in accordance with the resident's assessment and care plan, and as directed by your supervisor. Follows all health, sanitary and infection control policies and maintains established standards of practice set forth by the community's administration and Life Enrichment Policies and Procedures.
Education & Qualifications:
- Must have knowledge of practical application of Life Enrichment skills such as creative expression, music, group leadership, crafts, leisure, etc.
- Activity Professional Certified or higher preferred, but not required (certification is required to complete assessments and MDS independently).
- Must be able to communicate in English and have the ability to follow verbal and written instructions.
- Must possess and demonstrate the ability to carry out both verbal and written directions.
- Must possess and demonstrate good interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work with supervisors, co-workers and community staff in the performance of duties.
- Ability to observe proper safety and sanitary techniques.
- Ability to work hours as scheduled based on the requirements of the position/assignment.
- Must not pose a direct threat to the health and safety of others in the workplace.
- Must be able to escort resident to/from activities.
- Possess a positive outlook of the organization in dealing with residents/clients, coworkers, and the public.
Experience:
- Minimum of one year of experience working with seniors in a recreational or social setting preferred, not required.
Shift & Wage:
