The Montclair is a small, assisted living community in Decatur, part of the Clairmont Place Retirement Community. Montclair focuses on person-directed care with a low care partner to resident ratio and a high level of engagement. You should have the ability to coordinate support from volunteers, care partners, the Community Life director from Clairmont Place and staff from other departments – good communication is vital. The Montclair Activities Director role is essential in how our community thrives and experiences meaning in their daily lives. You will work closely with the assisted living director and the resident council in creating a monthly calendar featuring a variety of activities requested by the residents. This should include but is certainly not limited to devotions, daily exercise, outings, trivia, and art classes. Collaborating with the residents and honoring their decisions leads to a healthy community that focuses on empowerment and personal choice. The goal of the Montclair Activities Department is to support the residents in having companionship, meaningful and entertaining activity, and empowerment.
The right person for this role will have 5+ years of experience, be a licensed Activities Director and have a heart for elders. You must be able to pass a drug screen, a GCHEX background screen and be vaccinated against Covid.
