DescriptionPay based on experience. Starting rate: $15.36/hr. Mt. Macrina Manor is a 120 bed, not for profit, skilled nursing facility that has served Southwestern Pennsylvania since 1971. The grounds are located approximately one hour southof Pittsburgh in a scenic, peaceful rural area directly off Route 40 in Uniontown. The facility offers 24 hour nursing care, rehabilitative services, memory care, and pastoral care to all denominations. Our staff continues the mission of the Sisters of providing joyous, compassionate care that preserves the human dignity of all that we serveGeneral Description:Under the direction of the Manager of Recreation, services are provided that are designed to meet the recreational, educational, spiritual and leisure time needs of all residents.Essential Duties:1. Demonstrates an understanding and puts into practice person - centered philosophy by entering into a relationship with the stakeholders where the goal is to provide a comfortable and home - like environment and the relationship develops into a meaningful and satisfying one for all involved.2. Makes an effort to know the needs and desires of the residents. Demonstrates flexibility based on person - centered philosophy. Supports and creates a unified approach by providing service at the convenience and choice of the resident. Actively problem solves with residents, families and other staff to promote a safe and comfortable home - like environment.3. Conducts therapeutic activity programs to meet recreational and educational, spiritual and leisure time needs of residents.4. Safely operates community van during community outings.5. Contributes to on-going design and development of activity schedule and program.6. Completes necessary documentation to ensure compliance with departmental guidelines including QA monitoring as assigned by Manager of Recreation.7. Supports efforts of volunteers and community involvement at Mt. Macrina Manor.8. Maintains activity space in a safe, neat, clean and orderly manner.9. Resident Relations: Demonstrates an understanding and puts into practice excellent customer service by creating a positive first impression, handling with care, being a team player, communicating professionally and acting like an owner.10. Specifically this means maintaining accuracy and integrity in all of its activities, including providing quality, timely, and necessary care to its residents and operating within the limits of local, state and federal regulations.12. HIPAA: Demonstrates confidentiality through a conscious effort to keep all personal information private. This may include the resident's identity, physical or psychological condition, emotional status, or financial situation.13. Actively participates in the Resident Dining Program after completing the Feeding Assistant Training Program unless already licensed or certified in an appropriate field.14. Any and all other duties, as assigned.Education & Experience:• High school diploma or equivalent is required.• Associate or Bachelor degree in related field preferred.• Current/valid PA Driver's License• One to two years activities related experience working with the dependent elderly or in a health care setting.• Experience working with Dementia residents is preferred.Physical Demands:• Ability to walk, lift, bend at knees and waist, stoop, kneel, reach, climb step stool, and stand in place for extended periods.• Ability to lift and/or move objects up to 20 pounds.• Ability to push or pull up to 100 pounds frequently.• Ability to use close vision, peripheral vision, and adjust focus.
