Activity CoordinatorJob description:Summary/ObjectiveThe role of OCC Activity Coordinator is to create, promote and implement engaging and stimulating educational, artistic, cultural, and athletic activities and programs for the local community. Friendly, professional service interactions with other Town departments, OCC members, and the general public are integral to this position. Essential Functions Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. •Administrative work includes but is not limited to accepting payments, interacting with OCC users, and data entry.•Field questions regarding all OCC programs via phone, email, online or in person•Assist with planning, promoting and presentation of classes and athletic programs for all age groups, with special focus on youth.•Promote and implement special events.•Assist with daily management of all OCC programs.•Maintain and update statistical data of programs.•Communicate with all disciplines including the Director.•Ability to manage a wide variety of assignments with frequent interruptions.•Ability to prioritize/reprioritize assignments.•Ability to maintain composure when managing a crisis in a professional, positive manner.•Maintain confidentiality.•Must be available to work nights and weekends as needed. The work environment can be busy with many interruptions. Noise or physical surroundings may be distracting. Hazards of the outdoor environment may include and are not limited to sun exposure, insects, unlevel ground, etc.Physical DemandsMinimal physical demand is required to perform most of the work. Programs being presented will dictate the type and amount of physical exertion required. Occasionally may be required to lift objects such as files, boxes of paper, office supplies and equipment, sports and athletic equipment weighing up to 50 pounds. Set up and break down tables, chairs, rooms for programs and activities. Fine motor skills include moving desk objects and using office equipment including telephones, personal computers, handheld technology. Employees are routinely required to develop and/or read documents for general understanding and analysis. Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a part-time, non-benefit eligible position. Hours are flexible, 12-19 hours per week. Preferably 3 - 4 days per week, during certain athletic seasons Saturdays and Sundays will be required.
