Job Description:
Acute Respiratory Therapist MLR Healthcare (Recruiting) is seeking a full-time, permanent Respiratory Therapist to join a committed team at a well-established acute-care hospital in Texas. In this role, you will provide specialized respiratory therapy services, following established protocols to aid patients in their recovery and improve their overall respiratory health. Salary: $55,654 - $90,583 per year Respiratory Therapist Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with Physicians: Work alongside medical teams to assess patient conditions and develop customized treatment plans.
  • Conduct Respiratory Assessments: Perform diagnostic evaluations to determine patients' respiratory needs and plan suitable interventions.
  • Work Schedule: Night shifts, rotating every other weekend, with three 12-hour shifts weekly.
  • Environmental Assessment: Evaluate patients' home or workplace settings and recommend adjustments to support respiratory health and independence.
  • Data Management: Accurately enter and manage patient information in electronic health record systems.
  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that the work environment meets OSHA and NIOSH safety standards.
Qualifications:
  • Licensure: Must hold an active Respiratory Care license in the state of Texas.
  • Certification Maintenance: Maintain active status with the National Board for Respiratory Care annually, adhering to the Continuing Competency Program (CCP).
  • Graduate Therapist Requirements: Must obtain CRT credentials and pursue RRT credentials within one year of graduation while maintaining active NBRC status. Therapists who do not obtain RRT credentials will be reassigned to a Respiratory Care Practitioner role until certification is achieved.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS): Certification must be completed prior to patient contact.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS): Certification is required within six months.
  • Pediatric Emergency (ENPC/PALS): Certification must be achieved within one year.
  • Neonatal Resuscitation (NRP): Certification is required within one year.
