Position PurposeUnder the guidance and direction of the Program Manager for Advanced Manufacturing performs the following key duties: Provide instructional services for computer aided drafting courses; Perform academic advising activities for the course as required; Engage in continuous professional development in both teaching and discipline-specific theory and practice; Participate in department activities; Participate in new student enrollment activities (recruitment, registration, Discover Hocking, and Showcase); Participate in Academic Affairs and other institutional activities; Maintains a safe working area and conditions.
Duties and Responsibilities - Provide Instructional Services
- Provide instruction as scheduled and effectively manage course operations.
- Adhere to course outcomes and curriculum which are consistent with Academic Affairs, department, and technology/program goals.
- Convey course outcomes and expectations to students according to college policy.
- Organize and manage instructional activities.
- Use appropriate learner-centered instructional methods.
- Provide evaluation methods appropriate to stated outcomes.
- Fairly evaluate student learning.
- Maintain accurate records of evaluation and course work including attendance.
- Submit grades as required and on time.
- Regularly seeks feedback on course delivery and student learning.
- Participate in course revisions and/or update regularly.
- Perform Student Academic Advising Activities
- Assist with the recruitment and placement of students.
- Encourage students' involvement in the advising process.
- Maintains sufficient office hours compatible with student schedules.
- Advise students having difficulty in class/practicum work.
- Maintain appropriate student files.
- Direct students to the appropriate department and College resources.
- Maintain confidentiality.
- Participates in Department Activities
- Work cooperatively with others to accomplish the goals of the department and technology.
- Share expertise and materials with other department members.
- Work constructively to resolve individual and department concerns.
- Actively participate in technology and department activities and meetings.
- Follow departmental policies.
- Proactively identify and assist in promoting the program and department
- Assist in the development of materials about the program.
- Represent the programs to students, prospective students, and other interested parties.
- Participate in advisory committee meetings and updates.
- Collaborate and assist in programming for career/program exploration camps.
- Participate in program relevant community & networking events.
Qualifications - Education, Experience, and Skills - Bachelor's degree required in engineering or related field of study.
- 3 - 5 years of experience in AutoCAD, SolidWorks and related programs for computer aided design.
- Industry related license or certifications preferred.
- Skills in:
- Reading, understanding, and use of technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong organizational, record-keeping, and interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Strong technology skills including usage of Microsoft Office, and Email. Experience with Blackboard LMS system preferred.
