For example, knowledge in one or more areas such as: pollution studies, watershed studies, air and water permits, and environmental grant management. As an adjunct instructor, you will provide students with the knowledge and training they need to be successful in the program. This position is located at the Tech Center (5550 Winchester Ave) but may report to all Blue Ridge CTC locations as required to meet the needs of the position. This position may also be remote, depending on the needs of the class. Duties and Responsibilities
  • Instruct & teach students
  • Deliver & assist in developing lesson plans and educational materials.
  • Evaluate and grade student assignments
  • Track attendance and grades
  • Performs assigned duties and any other duties to drive the College's Vision, to fulfil the College's Mission, and to abide by the College's Values.
Minimum Qualifications Education
  • Associate's degree with ample experience in the environmental studies field or
  • Bachelor's degree in environmental studies.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required
  • Excellent interpersonal skills: ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner.
  • Knowledgeable in use of Word and Excel (intermediate level).
  • Familiarity with issues faced by community college students, especially in rural settings. Ability to relate to a diverse population.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to analyze programs, identify solutions, and take appropriate action to resolve problems, using independent judgment and decision-making processes. Ability to maintain composure when faced with difficult situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well with faculty and administrators.
  • Ability to multi-task and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with attention to detail.
  • Commitment to following all College policies and procedures.
Licensure/Certification Required
  • Valid driver's license required.
