General Description of Work
Whatcom Community College invites applications for a part-time adjunct faculty position to teach CIS beginning winter quarter 2025 and to expand the pool of instructors for future positions that may occur. The CIS instructor will teach CIS 116 with potential for other opportunities depending on their experience and interest. The College is seeking a dynamic individual interested in developing and engaging students, both inside and outside the classroom, using innovative and inclusive curriculum and teaching methods, including the application of technology. The College seeks faculty who have the ability to work effectively and collaboratively with students, colleagues, staff, and others in a campus climate that promotes cultural diversity and global understanding.

Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or Cybersecurity or equivalent training and experience or a combination of education and experience.
* One or more current industry certifications (e.g., A+, Network+, Security+, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
* Master's degree in Cybersecurity or a related discipline.
* Professional or academic background in CIS/Cybersecurity.
* Two or more years of experience in Information Technology (IT) or Cybersecurity.
* An understanding of the mission of a community college.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and abilities.
* Willingness to stay current in the field.
* A desire to provide a unique and quality experience for students.
Salary
Salary:
* $4,719.00 to teach CIS 116 winter quarter 2025 w/potential opportunity to teach additional/other classes.
Benefit Package:
* Accrues a percentage of 7 hours (equal to the percentage of workload) per month of sick leave (ex. 50% quarterly employment contract x 7 hrs for full-time = 3.5 hrs per month for that quarter).

* Winter Quarter 2025.
