This form must be completed and approved by the officials designated below.Position InformationPosition Title Adjunct Faculty CRIJ-Protective ServicesFLSA ExemptFull Time/Part Time Part TimeDepartment Protective ServicesCampus Central CampusLocation Central CampusSalary PTEAHours Part-time, include requirement and total hours per week - Evenings and weekends as needed not to exceed 19.5 hrs per weekSummary of PositionSeeking a highly experienced professional with over 20 years in law enforcement, including full-time service as a Homicide/Robbery Investigator and significant expertise as a Crash Investigator. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to effectively communicate complex instructional materials, deliver engaging classroom instruction, and facilitate online learning for a diverse audience.Minimum Required EducationBachelor's Degree from a nationally, regionally or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education in Criminal Justice with substantial work-related experience to teach Workforce courses ( CJSA or CJCR ).+ Certification or advanced training in additional law enforcement areas (e.g., TCOLE Instructor to include Firearms, Baton, Defensive Tactics, OC/Pepper Spray, Driving, and crisis intervention) is preferred.Minimum Required ExperienceFive years of work experience in Criminal Justice (exclusive of teaching) is required.Prior Teaching Experience required.+ Prior experience teaching adult learners or conducting professional law enforcement training in an academy setting is preferred.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities· Instructional Expertise:+ Demonstrated ability to design, deliver, and assess traditional (face-to-face) and multi-media classes, including night and weekend courses.+ Competence in using educational technologies, including Blackboard, for instructional purposes.+ Strong ability to communicate effectively with students from various backgrounds in both classroom and virtual settings.· Law Enforcement Knowledge:+ Extensive knowledge of Texas Criminal Laws, including the Penal Code, Code of Criminal Procedure, and Family Code.+ Practical experience and advanced training in Homicide/Robbery Investigations and Crash Reconstruction Investigations.+ Extensive experience in a police academy setting, instructing police cadets and in-service training.+ Familiarity with Chapter 1702 of the Texas Occupations Code and current Administrative Rules related to law enforcement and private security.· Technical Proficiency:+ Proficiency in Internet research, web browsers, email systems, and other digital tools related to criminal justice education.+ Ability to integrate contemporary research and case studies into instructional content to enhance student understanding and application.Posting Detail InformationOther InformationThis position requires a dynamic individual with a passion for criminal justice education and the ability to mentor and inspire the next generation of law enforcement professionals.
