Job Title: Adjunct Faculty for Biomechanics

Reports To: Associate Professor of Biology

Status: Contract, Part-Time

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

* Instruct an undergraduate level Biomechanics course for students in the Exercise Science Program for the Fall Semester 2024, meeting for 6 hours per week from August 26th - December 13th. Three hours per week of lecture, 3 hours of lab.

* The lecture meets from 11:15 A.M. to 12:10 P.M. on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays. The instructor will be responsible for:

* Developing a syllabus for the course, using an Institutional Syllabus Template designed for in - person instruction.

* Lectures and assessment (homework, quizzes and exams), as they pertain to outcomes established by the program.

* Grading the assessment material and posting grades into our on-line course management system in a timely manner.

* The Laboratory portion of the class meets on Tuesdays from 12:45 P.M. - 3:45 P.M. The instructor will be responsible for:

* Developing appropriate laboratory exercises to meet the needs of an undergraduate understanding in Biomechanics.

* Developing assessment exercises for the lab activities.

* Grading the assessment material and posting grades into our on-line course management system in a timely manner.

Requirements

* A graduate degree in Biomechanics, Exercise Physiology, Kinesiology or a related field.

* Demonstrated experience within the field of Biomechanics.

* Experience teaching Biomechanics at an undergraduate level is a plus.

* Letter summarizing your interest in and qualifications for the position.

* Official transcripts from all graduate-level institutions at which the candidate studied and/or from which the candidate obtained a degree.

* Current curriculum vitae that includes evidence of teaching experience and effectiveness, as well as courses developed and/or taught.

* Two letters of professional reference.

Compensation

$800 - $1040 per credit (contract) hour
