Job Description:
The Westchester Educational Opportunity Center (WEOC), a division of Westchester Community College, is seeking bilingual (Spanish), experienced, energetic, innovative, results oriented professionals to join its team. Located in Yonkers, NY, this non-traditional adult education institution provides tuition-free academic and vocational training to eligible underserved adults seeking to develop basic academic and vocational skills competencies and credentials needed for enrollment in college and/or entry into the workforce.
RESPONSIBILITIES: The Adjunct Faculty will supervise patient care provided by students (usually 6 to 8 students in a group) enrolled in the Home Health Aide (HHA) program while they complete their clinical rotation in nursing homes and/or assisted living facilities. The incumbent(s) will communicate in English with WEOC's RN Director Coordinator on supervisory expectations. The incumbent(s) will coordinate in English with clinicians at the clinical site on student/patient assignments. The incumbent(s) will teach students in Spanish how to perform duties/skills in the clinical site, facilitate the development of critical thinking, and be available in the clinical site to answer student questions in Spanish. The incumbent(s) will also evaluate students' clinical work and provide written and verbal feedback in Spanish. Successful candidates must demonstrate sensitivity to the needs of a diverse population and have the ability to work effectively with students who have barriers to employment. Clinical classes are typically offered during daytime hours.
Requirements:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The successful candidates must possess a minimum of a Master's Degree in Nursing, a license as an RN in the state of New York, and at least two years of clinical nursing experience, at least one year of which must be in home health care services. The successful candidates must be able to read, write, and speak in both English and Spanish. The ability to establish a rapport with students and maintain an environment that supports learning and promotes student retention, experience teaching remotely, and experience using an LMS are also required. Must be available during daytime hours for clinical supervision.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Experience teaching adult learners and at-risk populations strongly preferred; highly organized and detail oriented.

SALARY & BENEFITS: The hourly rate of pay is $74.31. No benefits. This position is fully grant funded.
