The preferred candidate for adjunct assistant professor, journalism, will have:
- Professional experience in journalism or a related field
- Teaching in higher education
- Availability to teach daytime courses
Teacher-practitioners who are knowledgeable about best practices and current digital tools for journalism and whose background includes professional experience in journalism are encouraged to apply.Qualifications
- A master's degree and teaching experience is preferred.
- Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to promoting equity, diversity and inclusivity in an educational environment.
- Candidates must be available to begin teaching in the spring 2025 semester.
- Candidates should be capable of teaching how to tell stories with photos, video, audio, and data, and how to edit media with industry-standard software.
- Candidates should be adept at leveraging social media for journalistic ends.
- Candidates should have an understanding of the ethical, economic, and technological challenges facing the changing media landscape and demonstrate innovative approaches to addressing them in an undergraduate and graduate curriculum.
