The New England School of Acupuncture seeks adjunct faculty-lab assistants to deliver high quality education and evaluation for the acupuncture program. The selected candidates will have responsibilities teaching practical skills courses to graduate students. Subject matter may include point location, needling, adjunctive techniques and/or palpatory skills, depending upon the course. Lab Assistants work in a team under the supervision of course faculty, and are hired by the semester: Fall is September-December, Spring is January-April, Summer is mid-May-early August.
- Deliver instruction in a classroom setting and provide experiential instruction in the acupuncture program
- Provide an engaging active learning environment for students
- Provide students with periodic evaluations of their progress toward meeting course objectives
- Apply grading policies fairly and consistently
- Adhere to the course syllabus, provided by the course faculty, which includes course objectives and learning outcomes, teaching methodology, attendance policies in line with those of MCPHS, and assessment criteria, including assignments deliverables timelines
- Additional responsibilities may be assigned by the course faculty
Required:
- Master's degree required, doctoral degree preferred
- Active Massachusetts acupuncture license or eligibility for MA licensure
- Commitment to graduate education and student success
- Excellent organizational and communication skills
- Must be able to work independently and effectively interact with a wide array of parties at all levels
