Adjunct Faculty, Legal Writing & Research, School of Law Job Details Job Location San Francisco - San Francisco, CA Position Type Part Time Job Category Education Basic Function & Scope of Job Golden Gate University School of Law invites applications to teach in GGU's legal writing and research program. GGU is currently seeking adjunct faculty who are interested in teaching first-year legal writing and research and a variety of courses in our upper-division program. A JD degree and at least three years of legal practice experience is required. Applicants should have excellent writing and research skills and should be familiar with research platforms, including Westlaw and Lexis. Although not required, candidates with strong professional connections to the San Francisco Bay Area and California legal communities who can mentor students and promote career opportunities will be viewed favorably. The ideal candidate has previous experience teaching at an ABA accredited law school.

First-year legal writing and research adjunct faculty: Adjunct faculty in the first-year program are responsible for reviewing training materials, preparing for and teaching the course in accordance with the syllabus and lesson plans developed by the director of the program. The position requires substantial additional time outside of class to provide written feedback to students and to meet individually with students throughout the year. First-year legal writing and research faculty teach in both the fall and spring semester.
Upper-division writing and research adjunct faculty: Responsibilities in the upper-division writing and research program depend on the course taught. For certain courses, adjunct faculty are responsible for developing course curriculum, including the syllabus, lesson plans, and graded assignments, in accordance with the requirements of the upper-division program and in consultation with the director and associate director of the program. For the Appellate Advocacy course, adjunct faculty are responsible for reviewing training materials, preparing for and teaching the course in accordance with the syllabus and lesson plans developed by the associate director of the program. All positions require substantial additional time outside of class to provide written feedback to students and to meet individually with students throughout the semester. Upper-division adjunct faculty may teach in the fall or spring semester, or both.
**Qualifications, Education and/or Experience:**
Experience in the areas of appeals, transactions, intellectual property, immigration, and public interest is preferred.
