Job Description:
The Occupational Therapy Department anticipates future needs for a pool of Part-time Adjunct Faculty to support excellence in teaching and learning for our students.
* Job Type: Adjunct
* Traditional On Ground and Online classes
* Date class is scheduled to begin: January 2025
* Class schedule: 14 weeks, Spring/Summer/Fall sessions
* Duration of class: variable
* Time of class: variable
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
* Most courses will be at the graduate level depending upon candidate experience and departmental needs.
* Occasional weekends and evenings are required based on program needs.
* Advise students in academic, fieldwork, and professional issues.
* Work collaboratively with the OT Program Director, OT Program Coordinator, and other faculty for program assessment of student learning outcomes.
* Participate in program and curriculum development as needed for assigned courses.
* Work collaboratively with the Program Director, Program Coordinator, and other faculty to ensure the program meets accreditation standards.
* Engage in a process of formative and summative course evaluation to enhance the student learning experience.
* Engage in appropriate and relevant professional development.
* Maintain applicable professional licensure in Massachusetts.
* Adhere to HIPAA and FERPA privacy standards.
* Attend training as required.
Requirements:
Requirements for position:
* Certified occupational therapist eligible for OT license in the state of Massachusetts.
* Minimum of a master degree however, an earned doctoral degree in an OT-relevant field (Education EdD, Occupational Therapy OTD, PhD, DHSc, etc.) is preferred.
* Previous teaching experience and evidence of engagement in scholarly work.
* Ability to adhere to University policies and procedures.
* Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

* General knowledge of the University's mission, purpose, and goals and the role this position plays in achieving those goals.
* Communicate clearly and effectively with faculty, students, staff, and administration.
* Ability to use the University's resources, notably technology, to promote effective teaching and learning.
* Interest, initiative, and ability to work with the Program Director, Program Coordinator, department faculty, and administrators for program development, implementation, and outcomes assessment.
* Working knowledge of HIPAA and FERPA privacy standards.
