Job Description
Pfeiffer University seeks qualified candidates to fill the role of Adjunct Faculty for the Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies program. The position is a part-time appointment to meet course content criteria. The successful candidate will collaborate with teaching, mentoring, and collaborating with program faculty in the evaluation of student learning.
The Physician Assistant Faculty is expected to support the overall mission and vision of Pfeiffer University through excellence in teaching and advising students. A commitment to the principles of servant leadership, working with Graduate/Adult students and involvement in university and community service is required. Contract to be established based on area of expertise and curriculum needs. Responsibilities include:
* Teaching in area(s) of specialization
* Contributing to curricular content
* Mentoring physician assistant students working in the didactic phase of their preparation
* Assessing student learning on course and program objectives
* Collaborating with the program director, director of didactic education, and other faculty to provide a positive, engaging experience for student learning.

The Physician Assistant Studies program is housed in Pfeiffer's newly constructed, state-of-the-art, Center for Health Sciences in Albemarle, NC.
Job Qualifications
* The ideal candidate may be a Physician Assistant or a Physician.
* Physician Assistant candidates must hold a Master's degree in Physician Assistant Studies.
* NCCPA certified and state licensed (or license eligible) as a Physician Assistant.
* Physician candidates must be certified by an ABMS- or AOA- approved specialty board and state licensed (or license eligible) as an allopathic or osteopathic Physician.
* Minimum of 2 years of clinical practice preferred.
* Previous clinical precepting or teaching experience for an accredited physician assistant program or medical school is strongly preferred. However, clinicians new to academia are encouraged to apply and will have the opportunity to work in a highly collaborative environment with active and supportive mentoring and faculty development training
* Supervise the Clinical Support Coordinator, however, both will report to the Program Director.
* Work closely with and under the supervision of the Pfeiffer University MS-PAS Program Director.
* Work from Albemarle, NC campus.
* Expected to perform ongoing clinical preceptor and site evaluations, and on-site student evaluations requiring travel from Albemarle to the clinical sites.
