We are seeking our next Adjunct Faculty - Nursing - Moore County Campus who will be all-in on our mission and who will perform duties primarily related to the instruction of courses in Nursing. Teaching responsibilities include time spent in the classroom, laboratory, online courses, or tech supported classes, and in immediate preparation for respective courses; maintaining and improving competence in subjects being taught; and preparing teaching materials.This position is filled on an as need basis, contingent upon institutional needs. Qualifications EDUCATION:Required: Associate Degree in nursing and be a registered nurse with an unencumbered Texas Nursing License.EXPERIENCE:Required: Two (2) years of direct care in nursing. Two (2) years of experience teaching CNA's or other healthcare occupations with at least one (1) year of experience in long term care.Preferred: Previous post-secondary teaching experience.CERTIFICATIONS/LICENSES:Required: Registered nurse with an unencumbered Texas Nursing License.*The candidate will also have to submit a resume and nursing license to the Texas Department of Health and Human Services Commission and receive permission to teach the course. Job Duties & Responsibilities
- Teach nursing and assigned course(s) utilizing appropriate and engaging instructional methods and techniques.
- Create engaging lesson plans that promote student involvement and application of the material.
- Submit college reports and forms in a timely manner.
- Utilize a course syllabus for each course, following established institutional guidelines.
- Meet with and advise students before/after class or by appointment, electronic communication, or other appropriate methods.
- Evaluate students to measure their progress.
- Attend meetings, trainings, and orientations as required.
- Participate in course and curriculum development, revision and evaluation.
- Design and implement assessments to measure student learning outcomes.
- Serve as CNA Instructor for the Nurse Aide Training and Competency Evaluation Program (NATCEP) programs under AC guidance and maintain and manage the NATCEPs required documentation for student compliance of the program, assist with the completion and submit the bi-annual NATCEP renewal documentation in order to maintain a continuous approval for Moore County CNA program, submit all program changes to the Department of Aging and Disability Services, attend state updates as needed.
- Coordinate the CNA and CNA Updates by managing registration and inquiries, maintain and ensure compliance, coordinate courses and clinicals along with program faculty.
- Supervise the processing of departmental files for assigned programs by double checking all course files before closure to ensure compliance, process and verify final course roster and grade roster within 10 days of end of the course.
- Prepare course documentation packets for CNA, CNA Updates, Regional Testing Site, EKG and Patient Care Tech Program by attending the first class of each program to review rules and options and chain of command with students, prepare and arrange for copying of assigned handouts and participant packets for courses, arrive early and/or stay late as needed to cover assigned programs and courses
- Maintain accurate and timely records of student attendance and academic performance.
- Perform effective teaching activities, including classroom instruction, directing projects, and assisting with student coursework, research and internships.
- Plan, develop and present organized classroom instructions and learning opportunities for students in accordance with approved course outlines.
