The Adjunct hybrid faculty roles teach assigned courses in person and asynchronously online. Strayer University is seeking a dynamic Adjunct Faculty member to join our academics team. We are currently in search of a passionate professor for graduate-level Marketing class for the upcoming Winterquarter, starting January 06, in a hybrid format. The hybrid format is described as teaching the course in both the in-person and online modalities. This role requires 11 in-person meeting sessions for 2 hours every week held at a predetermined scheduled time (day/evening) at a specific Strayer University Campus. The balance of the course is instructed asynchronously online.Strayer Adjunct Faculty are not just instructors; they are also coaches and mentors.   • Teach courses as assigned from a pre-designed curriculum and utilize your professional expertise to provide high-quality instruction.
  • Enhance the strength and effectiveness of the curriculum using technology and videos.
  • Arrive on-campus at least half an hour prior to the start time of in-person sessions per week during the academic quarter.
  • Utilize the online learning platform to enrich the student learning experience for the online component of the course.
  • Be available to students via email, phone, text, and office hours to ensure students receive quality feedback in a timely manner to support their academic success.
  • Establish high standards and ensure students understand how they will be evaluated.
  • Adhere to University policies and procedures.
  • Attend faculty meetings and workshops or training as required.
Job Skills:
  • Demonstrated knowledge of academic technology.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) software and overall computer skills.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of academic evaluation.
  • Proficiency in oral presentation skills, planning, and organizing of course objectives.
  • Must have strong computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Effective time management skills.
Work Experience:
  • Teaching experience at the college level and online teaching experience are strongly preferred.
  • 5 years of professional experience in Marketing or a related field is required.
Education:
  • Doctorate in Marketing or any Doctorate degree with 27doctorate quarter credit hours (18 semester credit hours) in Marketing (Social Media Marketing, Digital Marketing, etc.). or a Doctorate in a Business-related discipline with/ a Master's in marketing or any Master's degree with 27 graduate quarter credit hours (18 semester credit hours) in Marketing Required.
Certificates, licenses, and registrations:
  • Professional certification in discipline specialty (if applicable).
Other:
  • Must be able to travel occasionally should a business need arise. For most roles, travel would not be common. Travel may involve a plane, car, or metro. In accordance with ADA policies, reasonable accommodations regarding travel limitations can be provided. Travel will be more common for roles such as Account Executives (25 - 50%), senior leaders (10 - 20%), or Capella Core Faculty (5 - 10%).
