Seeking a part time adjunct instructor to teach a variety of fine arts offerings in person on our Bangor campus. For the fall semester we are seeking an applicant to teach BR120 Art and Design Foundations. This course requires fluency in the Adobe applications, Photoshop, Illustrator and in Design as well as traditional 2D mediums such as drawing, painting and hand design. The ideal candidate will be fluent in both traditional and digital mediums, and be excited to teach studio art and art appreciation courses in the following semesters. Examples of DutiesTeaching one or more studio-based art courses in a face to face format at the Bangor campus. This is an on campus teaching position.Developing content and materials to support courses in an online format by using Husson University's Learning Management System, CANVAS.Adapting the current syllabus and creating course outcomes and learning objectives; creating rigorous course assessments including class activities, readings, and assignments that help students obtain those objectives; evaluation and grading of student academic achievement, meeting remotely and/or communicating with the students as needed.Meeting/communicating with Chair of Humanities and Dean as needed or required, occasional meetings with other campus fine arts faculty and within the College of Science and Humanities.Using Husson University's LMS, CANVAS course management system, the faculty portal for grade submissions, and campus email systems.Abiding by and applying relevant Husson Academic Policies and standards. Typical QualificationsEducation: Completed Master's of Arts (MA) or Master of Fine Arts (MFA) degree required.Experience: A successful record of teaching studio art in 2D and 3D disciplines to a variety of learners from beginning to advanced students.Fluency in Adobe programs, Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesignKnowledge of a broad range of art and art history with a focus on cultural context, aesthetics, art appreciation, and creative expression.Knowledge of a broad range of artistic mediums, materials and applications in two-dimension and three-dimensional art forms.Practical experience in drawing, painting, printmaking, design and other art forms.Ability to facilitate courses online or on ground using the designated Learning Management System CANVAS.Ability to relate to students of diverse backgrounds and interests, broaden their understanding of the arts, and challenge them creatively and academically.Ability to work collegially in common purpose with other faculty in the humanities and fine arts to strengthen the presence of the arts at Husson University.#NTWe offer a comprehensive benefits package.
