Adjunct Instructor - Fire ScienceJob no: 492532 Work type: Adjunct Location: Michigan Categories: AdjunctTitle: Adjunct Instructor - Fire ScienceVP Area: Academic AffairsDepartment: College of Criminal Justice & Emergency RespondersJob Summary/Basic Function:Lake Superior State University is seeking to establish a list of qualified adjunct instructors to teach a broad range of fire science courses in the School of Criminal Justice, Fire Science and EMS.Minimum Qualifications:Bachelor's degree in Fire Science, Fire Engineering, Hazardous Materials, Public Safety or closely related field. The degree must be from a regionally accredited institution. Fire Instructor 1 or the ability to achieve Fire Instructor 1 with 6 months.Preferred Qualifications:Prior experience teaching and/or developing training in the field of Fire Science.10 or more years' experience in the field.Prior leadership positions in the field as a fulltime firefighter.Physical Demands:Typical demands of teaching at the university exist, with the ability to stand for up to 4 hours in a single class session.
