Posting DetailsPosition Information Job Title Adjunct Instructor RankTenure Information Non-Tenure Track Summary This is a part-time, on-site role for an Adjunct Professor in the entrepreneurship program at John Carroll University in Cleveland, Ohio. The Adjunct Professor will be responsible for teaching undergraduate courses. All courses are very experiential, project-based courses focused on enabling students to practice relevant skills. Instructors will guide and mentor students through a series of experiential activities, and will guide and mentor students through problem-solving and ideation projects working with community partners to scaffold the applicable skills for the course. Instructors will facilitate in-class discussions, discussions through Canvas, through group working sessions, and will be responsible for all classroom management and assessment.All courses include students using AI tools throughout the semester.The following are available courses and timing for the Spring 2025 semester that begins January 13th and ends May 14th:ER1110: 3 separate sections meet on Mondays 9:30am, 10:30am, or 11:30am for 50 minutes each for the entire semester and 2 sections will meet Tuesdays & Thursdays 5-5:50 for the weeks of 1/13 through 2/28
- Develops creative ability and its application to problem solving. Uses experiential exercises and the lenses of visual, digital, and musical arts to create and present projects/ideas.
ER2203: Creativity, Innovation and Energy,Tuesday & Thursday 9:55-11:10 for the entire semester
- Students practice creativity through techniques for improving the flexibility and originality of their thinking, thereby developing an entrepreneurial mindset. Using this mindset, students work with a team to study issues and ideas related to the principles of energy in a linked chemistry class and in this entrepreneurship class develop ways to address these ideas (social or business), identify an audience for it, and communicate the idea. Students present their idea as a signature joint project for both classes.

- Experience using AI (especially chatbots like ChatGPT)
- Strong knowledge and expertise in the subject area

- Willingness to collaborate with faculty and staff
- Relevant professional experience
Preferred Qualifications
- Teaching experience at the college level
- Master's degree or higher in the relevant field
Normal Work Location, Hours and Conditions This position works in-person from our campus in University Heights, Ohio. University core business hours are generally 8:30 am - 5:00 pm.
