Through a longstanding partnershipwith Putnam/Northern Westchester BOCES, Bank Street College elicits candidates withdemonstrated outstanding leadership potential who have been nominated by theirSuperintendents for the program. Candidates take courses primarily on the BOCES campusin Yorktown Heights and do supervised fieldwork in their own schools and districts.Adjunct Instructor Position:Bank Street College, Graduate School of Education, is looking for an adjunct to teach forthe following course in the Fall of 2024.Course: LEAD 664: Research for Educational ChangeCredits: 1 creditSemester: Five course sessions during Fall 2024 (September 5, 2024 - December 19,2024)Day/time: Thursdays, 6:30 pm - 8:30 pmLocation: In-person at PNW BOCES, Yorktown Heights, NYCourse Description:This course is designed to enable leaders, teachers, special educators, and others to beeffective consumers of research, as well as to plan and carry out research in response tospecific educational questions. Stages of the research process are discussed. Studentsanalyze and evaluate research in the areas of leadership, school effectiveness,administration and supervision, teaching, and curriculum reform, and apply the findings totheir everyday roles as educational leaders. It is expected that this course will be valuablefor those matriculated students who are initiating projects to satisfy the Independent Studyrequirement. The format consists of lectures and discussions of the stages of the researchprocess.
