Job Description:
Primary Purpose:Assist the Federal Programs Director in maintaining and managing budgets, placing and processing purchase orders, and maintaining compliance documentation for each of the federal programs.Qualifications:Education/Certification:High school diploma or GEDSpecial Knowledge/Skills:Effective organizational, file maintenance, communication, and interpersonal skillsAbility to use personal computer and software to develop spreadsheets, databases, and word processingKnowledge of basic accounting principlesMinimum Experience:One to three years of secretarial experience, preferably in public education environmentOne to three years accounting or bookkeeping experienceMajor Responsibilities and Duties:Records, Reports, and Correspondence1. Place and receive telephone calls and emails regarding assigned federal programs.
  • Perform varied word processing skills in the preparation of correspondence, forms, reports, applications, etc.
  • Prepare and process purchase orders for each program.
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date balances for each program and budget.
  • Maintain complete and systemic records of programs' financial transactions providing accurate and up to date balances for each program and budget.
  • Maintain a filing system for each assigned program.
  • Serve as a liaison between the LEA and private non-profit schools.
  • Assist curriculum specialists with Title I, II and III professional development activities as needed.
  • Ensures confidentiality when required.
