Perform as the Administrative Assistant of the Education Department at the SC Youth Challenge Academy. Assist with monitoring and maintaining the Education Department. Fill in for Lead Teacher in his/her absence. Maintain and track data in the education department. Input cadet's information in the database accurately and in a timely manner. Ensure cadet's disciplinary records are filed and kept confidential. Perform a variety of administrative and professional functions in the education department for SC Youth Challenge Academy by assisting staff, cadets, and parents. Prepare calendars, schedules, and/or agendas for the cycle, meetings, etc. Assist with GED testing and TABE testing. Correspond by phone and email within 24-48 hours. Substitute for teachers when they are out sick or other reasons. Attend trainings and meetings as scheduled. Enhances department and organization reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Complete other duties as assigned. Minimum and Additional Requirements A high school diploma and 3 years of administrative and/or office management experience. Preferred Qualifications A Bachelor's degree in related field and 1 year of administrative experience and/or office management. Experience in the education field. Additional Comments Knowledge of agency policies, procedures, regulations and program services. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships. Ability to communicate effectively, written and orally. The ability to exercise judgment and discretion. The ability to interpret and apply laws, regulations, policies within the scope of case management. The ability to communicate effectively both written and orally.
