Seasonal position: July 1st - September 2nd & December 1st - February 15th
The City Treasurer's Office handles property tax, water and miscellaneous billing payments and inquiries. As a common point of contact to our residents, business owners and other interested parties, the department provides friendly, thorough and professional service.
DUTIES
* Process over-the-counter tax, water and invoice payments.
* Receive and process a high volume of bill payments from mail and drop boxes.
* Provide property tax, water and special assessment information to residents, title companies and others.
* Retrieve necessary reports from internal software applications.
* Assist City Treasurer with special projects. Under supervisor's direction, may assist with projects related to organization, processes and procedures.
* Perform other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS
* Two (2) years of college coursework in Business, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field from an accredited college or university.
* Two (2) years of recent work experience coordinating and performing related administrative tasks.
* Will consider applicants with an equivalent combination of education and experience (additional work experience may replace education requirement).
* Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
* Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in recordkeeping.
* Excellent organization and communication skills.
* As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must pass a pre-employment physical and drug screen (including marijuana).
PREFERENCES
* Customer service, financial processes, and high-volume cash-handling.
* Experience with BS&A Equalizer Software and enterprise resource planning software
HOURS
* Part-time, seasonal: July 1st through September 2nd (Summer tax season) and December 1st through February 15th (Winter tax season).
* Average of 20 - 22 hours per week.
* Monday - Friday (12:00 P.M. - 4:30 P.M.)
