Job Description:

Expected starting salary is $23.06 to $30.79. Full salary range is $23.06 - $38.52.

Associate's degree from an accredited college or university in business, administrative assistant, or related field.

OR

Combination of education and experience equivalent to two (2) year of experience in a customer-focused position.

Regular and reliable attendance is a necessary component of job/position. Individuals required to use County vehicles and equipment must have a valid driver's license and be free of any major traffic violations for the last three (3) years.

Under supervision, performs a variety of administrative support tasks requiring specialized knowledge of policies, procedures and laws applicable to the area of assignment. Provides customer service to internal and external customers, answers questions, complies data and reports, and prepares correspondence. Work is performed independently with attention to detail and periodic review for accuracy and conformance to prescribed standards. Answers questions about policies and procedures and may train others.

* Serves as first point of contact, greeting visitors and referring them to proper person or connecting callers with proper respondents.

* Assists with essential communication.

* Maintains records pertaining to office activities such as scanning documents, distributing mail and maintaining files.

* Completes critical data entry.

* Sorts and distributes mail and assists with maintaining office supplies.

* Composes and types various reports and is responsible for errors and omissions.

* Reviews or evaluates work of other admin staff for completeness and accuracy.

* Answers inquiries about policy, regulations and operating procedures from the public and representatives of private firms and government agencies.

* Performs general administrative duties related to office of assignment.

* Provides back-up support for other functions in the office.

* May perform related work as required.

* Knowledge of policies, regulations, statutes, procedures and practices pertaining to the area of specialization

* Knowledge of legal and technical forms and terminology in the area of specialization

* Ability to make work decisions in accordance with laws and policies

* Ability to maintain and revise records and to control their use and presentation

* Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees and the general public

* Ability to de-escalate situations

* Ability to perform administrative tasks

* Ability and skill in using a computer, office equipment, and general office software

* Ability to work independently and utilize strong problem-solving skills

* Ability to prioritize and assign work

* Ability to schedule and coordinate several calendars, meetings and events

* Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

* Ability to work with varied population and clientele
