GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

At-Will, 32-hour/week Office Assistant II position in Big Horn County, Lovell office.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: The listed functions are illustrative only and are not intended to describe every function which may be performed at the job level.

* The primary duties are to provide customer service to assist staff and clients while performing routine clerical and administrative work to include answering phones and providing public assistance.

* Must maintain strict HIPPA procedures in compliance with patient records and the public.

* Provide backup for other records and billing staff.

* Maintain departmental contracts, documents, and records, and establish and maintain filing systems.

* Respond to inquiries from employees and the general public and refer to appropriate personnel.

* Assist at community events.

* Independently drafts correspondence and special reports.

* Performs specialized tasks relating to databases, desktop publishing, graphics, etc.

* Serves as point of contact for assigned program.

* Completes special projects for county nurse manager.

* Assist administratively with budget development, analysis, interpretation, and recommendation.

* Participate in the development of department documents; provide guidance and technical assistance to the department.

* Handles deposits and monetary transactions and may review or evaluate information and/or transactions for accuracy.

Qualifications

PREFERENCE:

Preference will be given to candidates with an Associate's degree (typically in business) or 2-4 years of work experience (typically in Business Office Communications) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Office Assistant II.

KNOWLEDGE:

* Knowledge of computer programs (i.e., Microsoft Office/Google)

* Knowledge of administrative and clerical procedures and systems.

* Knowledge of record keeping and preparation of reports.

* Knowledge of state governmental organizations.

* Knowledge of the principles and methods of gathering information.

* Knowledge of bookkeeping and accounting principles.

* Knowledge of planning, programming, and fiscal management.

* Knowledge of methods used to monitor and evaluate program delivery.

* Knowledge of governmental procurement principles, methods, and procedures.

* Knowledge of forms development techniques.

* Knowledge of advanced research, analysis, and compilation of data.

* Knowledge of agency-specific specialties. (i.e. construction, engineering, legal)

Necessary Special Requirements

PHYSICAL WORKING CONDITIONS:

* Typically, the employee may sit comfortably to perform the work; however, there may be some walking, standing, bending, carrying light items, driving an automobile, etc.

* Special physical demands are not required to perform the work.

NOTES:

* FLSA: Non-Exempt

* The Wyoming Department of Health is anE-Verify employer.

* As a condition of employment, the successful applicant employed will be required to execute a release of personnel records to the director/board/commissioners in the county area involved on an as-needed basis. In addition, the successful applicant will be required to complete an Employee Health Assessment, which includes verification of immunity to vaccine-preventable diseases. If found to be non-immune, vaccination will be required unless medically contraindicated. Yearly influenza vaccination is also required, unless medically contraindicated. A background check, including the taking of fingerprints, will be completed through the Wyoming Department of Criminal Investigation, the Department of Family Services, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Applicant must be able to lift and transport equipment of varying sizes and weights to about 50 lbs, including to offsite clinics and classes; climb stairs, drive long distances; and travel throughout the state, if needed.
