This position works 40 hours per week, normally Monday through Friday. May be required to work some weekends and may require the operation of transit vehicle to transport passengers in a safe, prompt and courteous manner.The Clovis Area Transit System's mission is to provide safe, reliable, efficient transportation service to the Clovis community.**This position has been classified as a safety sensitive position and is subject to our drug testing policy to include pre-employment, random, reasonable suspicion and post-accident for the following prohibited substances: marijuana, amphetamines, opioids, phencyclidine (PCP), and cocaine, as well as any drug not approved for medical use by the U.S. Drug Enforcement Administration or the U.S. Food and Drug Administration.** Typical Duties
- Types and composes correspondence, flyers, signs, brochures and other documents for the department.
- Acts as receptionist - greeting customers, answering phone, taking and logging reservations for transit service, making appropriate referrals and taking messages.
- Organizes and maintains files.
- Observing the city's purchasing procedures - logs and tracks all requisitions and purchase orders, obtains price quotes for purchases, assuring that all purchases are coded to proper fund codes and tracks line item budget balances.
- Maintains department's inventory, logs and tags equipment, performs annual inspection, orders and stocks office supplies.
- Maintains department employee timesheets, time-offs, leave and comp accrual.
- As need arises, will be required to drive transit van and transport passengers.
- Learn 10 codes and proper mobile radio techniques.
- In coordination with the Data Entry Clerk, and assists with reconciling driver's daily logs as needed and types drivers' daily manifests.
- Staff dispatch desk and handle all incoming radio contacts in coordination with all other available staff.
- Assist with building custodial duties as needed.
- Attend in-service safety briefings and training sessions as required.
- Assist with compiling monthly passenger statistics as need arises.
- Maintain exceptional customer service at all times.
- Provide all transportation services in a safe and secure manner.
- Dignity and respect to be presented to others.
Requirements
- Requires 18 months experience in office operations as a clerical worker or equivalent.
- Must have the ability to type fifty (50) words per minute as well as transcribe from dictation with a high degree of accuracy and a good working knowledge of computer word processing and spreadsheet programs.
- Must have a valid driver's license and a good driving record.
- Must be able to learn Tyler Munis Financial System
- Must be able to learn Ecolane Scheduling Software
Physical Requirements:
- Work is primarily performed in a standard office environment, occasional hazards may exist, including uneven ground surfaces.
- Light physical demands; mostly desk work, some lifting and carrying of files and reports.
- Frequent to constant use of a personal computer.
