Benefits For Full Time Employees Benefits/Perks: Tuition Assistance Program Generous paid time off (Including 5 Self-Care Days/Floating Holidays, 12 Sick Days, 15 Vacation Days, and 11 Holidays) Healthcare Plans (Medical, Dental, Vision, and Pet Care) 403(b) Plan (GSS contributes 3% of your salary to your 403(b) plan after 3 years of service, with contributions increasing over time) Candidates hired in this position will work in person but will have the flexibility to work remotely when program need allows Overview Title: Administrative Assistant (Part time) Reports to: Community School Director Location: PS 224, 757 Wortman Ave, Brooklyn NY 11208 Hours: 20 hours per week; Non - Exempt Salary: $24.73/Hr. - $27.47/Hr Schedule: 8-4pm with occasional evenings as scheduled Schedule: Monday - Friday, 10am to 2pm or 11am to 3pm ( 2 shifts open ) Job Summary: The Administrative Assistant will be responsible for all of the administrative aspects of the program. This includes but is not limited to, maintaining records and files (hard copy and electronic), data tracking including attendance in online databases, and clear and concise communication with staff, participants, families, and the community. Additionally, the Administrative Assistant will assist the staff in the orderly processing of all aspects of the administration of the program as may be required. Major Duties: Assist program supervisors in all programmatic duties. Assist in the outreach efforts and registration of all program participants. Plan and conduct an enrichment/SEL activity in the program as needed. Conduct and track daily participant absent calls for wellness checks. Oversee the distribution of all flyers and collection of permission slips for events and programming. Assist program on monthly events and/or trips. Assist in the operational needs of the program where needed. Take inventory of office supplies. Greet participants and guests upon arrival. Assists during transitional periods such as arrival, lunch & dismissal To effectively maintain a clean and orderly office space, closets & other GSS designated areas Perform other duties as assigned. Qualifications: High School Diploma/ GED required. 2 years secretarial/administrative experience required 2 years of Youth Development Experience Required. Must have knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Knowledge of Canva, Google Slides (preferred) Bilingual (preferred) Excellent verbal and written communication skills required. Must have a commitment to work from a strength based and/or Youth and Community Development perspective. Must have ability to interact in a positive and courteous manner with all visitors and callers to the agency. Must be able to multitask and be flexible with program Needs.
