Position Description
Position Summary
To serve as the Department of Safety Office point of contact for the campus community and for visitors to the department. Perform administrative support and clerical activities for the Department of Safety.
Education Required
High school diploma or equivalent.
Education Preferred Experience Required
None
Experience Preferred
One year of office/administrative assistant experience.

Driving Requirements
Possess and maintain valid driver's license and personal insurance. Must pass driving records check. May occasionally need to drive a fleet car for deliveries, etc.
Essential Employee N/A Primary Duties
1. Serve as the Department of Safety Office point of contact for the campus community and all visitors to the dept.
2. Responsible for the direct oversight of employee parking including: permits, registrations, assignments, research of unknown plates, and data entry.
3. Perform administrative and clerical support tasks such as word processing, managing files,records, forms and other office procedures and reports.
4. Provide excellent customer care and service to members of the campus community.
5. Communicate with supervisors and peers by providing information to them and assisting with job related functions.
6. Receive and screen incoming telephone calls, provide information, take messages and schedule appointments.
7. Assist with public events planning and setup for training sessions, including making room reservations and catering services.
8. Assist the Director and Supervisors with planning and departmental logistical matters.
9. Inventory office supplies and coordinate department ordering of same.
10. Assist with updating the department's web page assuring all items are current.
11. Train new hires how to use copiers, fax, phone, email, etc.
12. Maintain consistent and reliable attendance.
Secondary Duties
1. Fill in for dispatcher when needed.
2. Conduct 15 passenger van driver testing.
3. Other duties as assigned.
