The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary
The Olive Laboratory at Columbia University Medical Center seeks a highly organized and motivated Administrative Assistant to support our groundbreaking research in pancreatic cancer. Our team is dedicated to translating laboratory discoveries into life-saving clinical treatments. As a key member of our dynamic group, you will coordinate diverse team activities, manage administrative tasks, and contribute to the advancement of our Precision Medicine program.
Responsibilities
* Manage the primary investigator's calendar and schedule appointments
* Coordinate travel arrangements, and process expense reports and reimbursements
* Schedule and organize meetings with faculty, scientists, and collaborators
* Provide administrative support for grant applications and management
* Copyedit laboratory manuscripts
* Manage lab supply orders, purchase reconciliation, and instrument maintenance
* Collaborate with vendors to negotiate optimal pricing
* Maintain laboratory website, calendars, and shared documents
* Contribute to the development and implementation of the Precision Medicine program
* Perform additional related duties as needed
Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent in education, training and experience
* Two years of relevant administrative experience
* Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and online collaboration tools
* Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Qualifications
* Two years of relevant administrative experience
* Experience in a biology research laboratory setting
* Grant submission and management experience, particularly NIH grants
* Purchasing or procurement experience in an academic or research environment
* Demonstrated interest in biology or cancer research
Other Requirements
* Successful completion of applicable compliance and systems training requirements
