Details at www.duq.edu/benefits Location: College of Osteopathic Medicine Position Status: Full-time Hours: Varied Position Number: 000635/30-314 FLSA Status: non-exemptPOSITIONSUMMARY:The Administrative Assistant position for the Duquesne University College ofOsteopathic Medicine Office of Medical Education is a highly skilledparaprofessional position that supports the activities of Medical Education.This Administrative Assistant will maintain organization of files, engage inverbal and written communication, and assist with the daily operations of thefirst- and second-year curriculum as it relates to Medical Education.DUTIESAND RESPONSIBILITIES:Directs incoming calls to the appropriate person or department, respond toincoming departmental emails, assist with the development and implementation ofacademic and curricular schedules, take meeting notes as needed, and follow upwith phone calls, emails, and official written communications.Assists with the daily operation ofthe curriculum for the first and second year, including the recording oflectures and taking attendance; assists with the proctoring of all exams andquizzes; assists with the management of the first- and second-year Canvascourses; assists with updating and managing DUQCOM's curriculum map in One45.Attends department meetings, recordsminutes, and provides updates as needed.Picks up and distributes mail.Processes all department purchaseinvoices.Works collaboratively with otherdepartments throughout the College and on-campus.Works collaboratively with otheradministrative assistants throughout the College and on-campus; workscollaboratively with other departments throughout the College and on-campus.Completes otherduties as assigned.REQUIREMENTS:Minimum qualifications:Bachelor's degreein English, communications, business or a related field from an accreditedinstitution.1-3 years ofrelevant job experience.Alternately, the successful candidate may possess any equivalent combination ofexperience and training, which provides the knowledge, skills and abilitiesrequired to perform the essential job functions. This includes, but is notlimited to, the following:Experience and training in an office environment, with knowledge, skills andabilities required to perform the essential job functions. This includesdemonstrated proficiency with current Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel,PowerPoint, Teams, Access, and Publisher as well as Outlook e-mail.Willingness andability to utilize new technologies relevant to the position.Knowledge of, orthe ability to learn internal University and COM systems including WebAdmit,Slate, Chrome River, Banner, Canvas, and others.Excellentorganizational skills, accuracy, diplomacy, and good interpersonal skills.The candidatewill exhibit independence and working within established policies, whilecooperating with other staff of the COM and the University, in support of theirmissions.This positionrequires a high level of administrative and customer service support skills, asthe position requires extensive contact with students, faculty, and staff.Schedulingflexibility is a must. Overtime may be required during peak event times duringthe year.Must be mobileand have the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
