Category Administration Description The International Center for Language Studies (ICLS) is a woman-owned, independent language school based in Washington, DC with over 55 years of experience delivering high-quality training in ESL and over 85 different foreign languages. The ICLS mission is to offer student-centered language programs that develop authentic target language use, focus on individual goals, and enable students to be successful in a global environment.The Administrative Assistant is responsible for administrative support in the efficient daily operation of the Foreign Language Division (FLD). This position supports the FLD team through a variety of tasks related to organization, communication, customer service, and reporting. The Administrative Assistant plays a critical role in maintaining organization within the division, effectively relaying time sensitive material, and clearly communicating FLD's practices and procedures.ICLS is committed to offering ongoing professional development opportunities to its employees; ICLS administrative staff and faculty are expected to participate in appropriate activities when they are offered. - Provide administrative support for a 6-person team
- Provide new student orientations
- Prepare and maintain classrooms and class schedules
- Maintain and update databases, LMS, distribution lists, and paper files
- Track and update staff, students, and teachers on absences, cancellations, and substitutions
- Distribute, collect and file deliverables for select USG agencies
- Log receipts and support client billing
- Distribute messages and announcements to teachers and students
- Order, distribute, and log instructional materials
- Other duties as assigned
Salary Range $50K - $54KRobust Benefits PackagePosition Requirements Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree
- One to three years previous administrative experience
- Experience in logistics and working with highly detailed content
- Experience working in a multilingual/multicultural environment
- Second language or familiarity with language studies preferred
- Ability to prioritize multiple tasks
- Strong attention to detail and problem solving skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organizational and planning skills
- Proficient in MS Office, Knowledge of Trello, SharePoint, and Canvas preferred
