Enters vehicle and equipment mileage into computer program. Receives and distributes incoming correspondence and prepares correspondence for signature of Resident Maintenance Engineer. Using SCEIS, prepares routine to complex requisitions and purchase orders for the purchase of maintenance materials, supplies, and equipment and prepares receipts for payment. Contacts vendor for bids. Ensures conformity to the Department's procurement guidelines. Maintains office supply inventory. Using SCEIS, complies and process utility abstracts and checks on payment for vendors. Answers telephone and forwards calls and/or takes messages for Resident Maintenance Engineer, assistants, and other employees. Records complaints and requests for service from general public to computer program. Operates maintenance radio. Using SCEIS and HMMS, puts information into system from daily work sheets and generates time sheets. Contacts public service agencies for the field whenever services are needed for location of cable, service lines, reporting cut cable, etc. Performs duties during inclement weather. Performs other related duties as assigned. Minimum and Additional Requirements A high school diploma and six (6) months of work experience that is directly related to the area of employment, or an approved acceptable equivalence. A valid motor vehicle operator's license is required.The physical demands for the essential functions of this position include sitting or standing at a desk for extended periods and working on a computer. May be required to lift up to 30 lbs. May be required to work outside of normal work schedule, especially during inclement weather and/or other departmental-related emergencies.
