Administrative Assistant I Posting Closes: September 20, 2024 Starting Pay: $15.60 hourly General Description: Responsible for various types of clerical and secretarial tasks that must be completed with minimum supervision and a high degree of accuracy. Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduation from high school or possession of a GED AND
- Two (2) years of general clerical/secretarial work experience.
- A comparable amount of education and experience may be substituted for the minimum requirements.
Background Screening: This position will require an extensive background investigation and drug screening. Essential Functions:
- Serve as a clerical specialist in maintaining a computerized database for a District/Section which includes updating and purging records, preparing/formatting reports, and troubleshooting system problems.
- Performs specialized and technical clerical and record keeping duties with minimum supervision.
- Performs receptionist duties for a District/Section including typing, filing, copying, faxing, mail distribution, etc.
- May maintain District/Section accounts payables.
- May process field purchase orders, requisitions and forms.
- Responsible for maintaining stock levels and ordering supplies.
- Receives telephone calls and in-person contact from citizens requesting specialized information of services and handles them accordingly.
- Receives complaints from citizens regarding service or related information.
- Addresses routine or general questions relative to procedures, policy, or operation.
- Researches and assembles a variety of data from office records for incorporation into various reports.
- Attends work on a regular and consistent basis.
- Must adhere to Federal, State, County, and local ordinances.
- Performs other duties as assigned.

- General office setting with most duties being performed while sitting at a desk, table, or workstation
