A challenging opportunity is available for a self-motivated park service professional to fill an Administrative Assistant I position at Gamble Rogers Memorial State Park Recreation Area. This position requires strong visitor service, assists in planning, coordinating and implementing all administrative activities involved in park operations.

Pay :

Base salary $2,902.03 monthly/$34,824.36 yearly

Your Specific Responsibilities:

Performs assigned fiscal audits, acts as purchasing agent (My Florida Marketplace), monitors and tracks park budget, prepares budget reports. Process payment of utility bills, requisitions, blanket purchase orders and field purchase orders. Acts as primary liaison for the Purchasing Card Program System. Maintain work project tracking forms, expenditures for projects and project files. Ensure compliance with all purchasing regulations, current division policies, procedures and programs. Program office equipment operate personal computer, E-Mail, Internet, multi-lines phone system, two-way radio system. Acts as liaison for assigned personnel and worker's compensation actions. Assists in overseeing toll collectors. Oversees and assists in training staff in proper administrative procedures and practices. Prepare special correspondence and acts as property custodian. Assist Park Manager in budget request process. Provides recommendations to the park manager for processes and procedures which will promote efficiency and simplify park administrative functions.

Responds to oral and written complaints or complimentary letters, makes resolution decisions. Tracking schedules and corresponding with volunteers. Administers concession contracts and monthly inspections. Acts as liaison to park Citizen Support Organization. Answer phones and direct calls to appropriate party or take accurate messages. Act as Office Manager for office operations and ensure smooth operation of office procedures. Maintain property and personnel files.

Attends meetings and training sessions and represents the Park Manager at meetings with division representatives, other agencies and organizations. Prepares and processes paperwork relating to personnel activities to include leave and attendance, selection and recruitment, employee relations and travel.

Vacuum assigned work area. Maintain office equipment including, but not limited to printers, fax, adding machines, cash registers/POS, credit card machines, etc. Performs light cleaning of surfaces and office furniture.

Performs other related duties as required.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of: administrative principles and practice; office procedures and practices; Windows, E-Mail, and Internet; data collection.

Knowledge and Ability to : collect, evaluate and analyze filing, accounting, personnel actions, purchasing, budget entry.

Ability to : prepare correspondence and administrative reports; handle multi-phone lines and two-way radio system; operate and maintain office equipment; communicate verbally and in writing; coordinate work assignments; maintain effective working relationships with others; follow written and verbal instructions; resolve customer inquiries.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Must possess a valid driver's license

  • Must successfully complete fingerprint/background check
