ABOUT THIS POSITION

The Aviation Department manages and operates the Phoenix Airport System which consists of Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, Phoenix-Deer Valley Airport, and Phoenix-Goodyear Airport. The Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport has consistently been ranked as one of the top ten busiest airports in the nation. Serving more than 125,000 passengers daily, with over 1,200 flights per day, the airport has a total annual economic impact of more than $44.3 billion per year. Aviation's 5-year Capital Improvement Program budget is approximately $3 billion.

The Aviation Department's Administrative Assistant II provides administrative support for the Design and Construction Services Division's management of projects. This position will assist the division with day-to-day professional level administrative duties including operating budgets, division policies/procedures, reports, and the overall administration of the division. Sound business communication, written and oral, including public speaking experience is needed.

This position is located at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport at 500 S. 24th Street, in Phoenix, Arizona 85034.

IDEAL CANDIDATE

* Strong business written and oral communication skills.

* Advanced computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.).

SALARY

Pay Range: $63,044 to $107,806 annually.

Hiring Range: $63,044 to $97,780 annually.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree in public or business administration or a related field.

* Three years of professional experience in public administration or governmental research or finance.

* Other combinations of education and experience that meet the minimum requirements may be substituted.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

The minimum qualifications listed above, plus:

* Experience working with SAP and SRM.

* Experience managing budgets, procurement processes, and contract management in a government or for a large business.

* Experience with professional service contracts or construction contracts such as pay requests, amendments, or change orders.

* Experience with project management and document control software such as Oracle's Unifier Capital Project Management System, or other related computer systems.
