Position Summary
This is a supervisory position within the Division of Operations and Programs that provides leadership for the Programmatic Services and Support team. This position is responsible for programs and facilitates implementation of initiatives that are responsive to needs of clients served by the agency, including Supported Employment, Supported Living, Individual and Family Supports, Transportation, and other related programs.
This position is responsible for spending the majority of their time supervising, communicating with, motivating, training, and evaluating employees, and planning and directing employees' work, and who have the authority to hire, transfer, suspend, lay off, recall, promote, discharge, assign, reward, or discipline subordinate employees or effectively recommend such action.
The Work You Will Do
* Provides supervision by holding employees accountable for required work, assigning and reviewing new work, providing ongoing coaching and feedback, performing general supervisory tasks in a timely manner, timely addressing any human resources related issues, and providing opportunities for employee growth when appropriate.
* Provides supervision and strategic direction for the team that handles employment initiatives, supported living, Individual and Family Supports and other programs that support individuals with unique abilities.
* Ensures that team members maintain statewide policies and guidelines to ensure standardized and effective delivery of initiatives for individuals served by the agency in accordance with state and federal regulations.
* Directs training and technical assistance activities for region staff and other stakeholders regarding employment initiatives, supported living, Individual and Family Supports, Transportation, and other programs that support individuals with unique abilities.
* Participates in strategic and operational planning to identify and develop programs and pathways to support individuals with unique abilities.
* Maintains data used to direct, monitor, and inform core operational processes.
* Other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
* Must be able to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
* Must be proficient with time management, planning, organizing, and coordinating work assignments.
* Must be able to apply program rules, policies and procedures.
* 4 years of experience in health and human services or education.
* Bachelor's degree is preferred.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
Knowledge of:
* Methods of compiling, organizing, and analyzing data for the purpose of monitoring and evaluating staff.
* Structure and content of the English language, including meaning and spelling of words, rules of composition, and grammar.

Direct Deposit Program
As a condition of employment, a person appointed to a position in the State Personnel System is required to participate in the Direct Deposit Program. Rather than receiving a paper paycheck, your funds will be deposited directly into your account at your financial institution. This will be accomplished by Electronic Funds Transfer. Banks, savings and loan associations, and credit unions are eligible to accept such deposits. Retirement funds are also required to be in the Direct Deposit Program.
Background Screening Requirement
It is the policy of the Florida Agency for Persons with Disabilities that applicants for employment undergo Level 2 employment screening in accordance with the requirements of Chapter 435, Florida Statutes, as a condition of employment or being permitted to serve as a volunteer.
