Salary $13.45SUMMARYThis position maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts, posting transactions, and closing accounts. Assists with the administration and management of the Capital Improvement Program. Duties are primarily based on applying general accounting procedures to the operation of this program.ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Processes monthly project payments.
  • Pays vouchers.
  • Tracks and maintains project budgets.
  • Tracks and maintains inventory records.
  • Accepts payments and prepares daily cash reports.
  • Compiles and prepares project reports.
  • Prepares and tracks project change orders.
  • Serves as backup for credit card processing and reconciliations.
  • Serves as backup for the receptionist.
  • Sets up and closes jobs.
  • Enters budget revisions.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS Requires a High School Diploma or its equivalent and a minimum of two years of accounting experience. Must be bondable. Notary Public required or ability to obtain a Notary within the probationary period.KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
  • Must have good typing skills, 30 wpm is preferred.
  • Knowledge of bookkeeping for federally funded projects.
  • Knowledge of standard bookkeeping and accounting principles.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment including a calculator, copier, and multi-line telephone system.
  • Proficient in the use of a computer for data entry, word processing and accounting purposes.
  • Skill in effectively communicating verbally and in writing with the general public, vendors/suppliers and City employees.
