Summary
Responsible for performing general office tasks and provides support to the Investigations Bureau - Special Investigation Unit within the Police Department. Works under general supervision, uses independent judgements within limits of applicable rules, regulations, policies, and procedures. Handles confidential material.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
* Provides administrative support to the Sergeant, Lieutenant and Deputy Chief as directed
* Ensures communication sent via mail, fax, or phone is distributed quickly and correctly
* Answers telephone, provides response and/or routes calls; receives visitors and assists the public
* Maintains a calendar for all agents in assigned unit and schedules appointments
* Maintains reports for the unit; assists other agencies with information requested; assists unit with information retrieval from various databases; routes paperwork to the proper court and attorney's office
* Prepares, types, files, and maintains records, supplements, intelligence, and lab form correspondence,
* Prepares cases for grand jury, enters active warrants into ILEADS, prepares search warrant
* Maintain unit budget records and agent's cash expenditures, requests for undercover funds, logs awarded seizures & forfeitures, maintains the log for the unit's training & presentation kits
* Assists with the preparation of meetings and prepares meeting minutes for Inter-departmental meetings
* Performs general office tasks such as copying, mailing, sending fax, and shredding
* Maintains supply inventory, organization, supply ordering and copier maintenance
* Processes assigned purchase orders, requisitions, and payment of invoices
* Drives to other locations to perform office related tasks and errands
* Follows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelines
* Performs other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
* Combination of education and experience equivalent to Associates degree in Business Administration or related field
* Four (4) years of experience in professional office setting
* Demonstrated proficiency in typing as determined by the department
* Pass extensive criminal background check and polygraph exam and evaluation
Preferred Qualifications
* Experience working in law enforcement office
* Familiar with law enforcement terminology
* Bilingual in English and Spanish

* Valid Driver's License
