Our primary mission is to educate and ensure the well-being of our students. We are currently seeking a responsible Administrative Assistant, with bilingual proficiency in both English and Spanish, to perform various administrative and clerical tasks. Block Institute provides a supportive atmosphere that fosters professional growth and development. Established in 1962, Block Institute has a rich history of providing tailored services for children and adults with developmental disabilities. Summary: Participates in the identification and placement of children referred for education services. Coordinates the screening process in conjunction with the family, district and other evaluators to ensure that children are placed in compliance with established regulations, procedures and timelines. Essential Employees: All Block Institute Employees have been deemed Essential Employees by the New York State. As such, that means that if there are requirements for Essential Employees to show up to work during announced emergencies or times of crisis, all Block employees are among those mandated to do so. (Subject to any other Executive Order to the contrary.) The scope of an Essential Employees' tasks during an emergency situation will vary from situation to situation, may include, but not be limited to: physically showing up to a designated work site as instructed, even if other businesses are closed; completion of all work where possible online, including documentation of services, evaluations, billing, etc.; attendance at Microsoft Team Meetings (or other online communication platforms) as invited; and completion of any assignments or training modules as instructed, and working remotely where possible. QualificationsEssential Job Duties and Responsibilities include the following, other duties may be assigned: Ensures that clinical services are provided in compliance with IEP plan mandates. Ensure that clinical documentation, along with Related Service Mentors, meets established SED regulatory compliance. Determines annual clinical staffing needs for educational program based on IEP mandates-at the beginning of the school year and summer session and throughout the year as needs change. Easy Track coordinator and facilitator. Coordinates the acquisition of all prescriptions needed throughout the year to maintain mandated services and comply with Medicaid regulations. Coordinates team meetings throughout the year and maintains the school calendar. Acts as liaison with DOE, CSE, CPSE and districts regarding issues with Related Services. Coordinates all Turning-3 intakes. Facilitates Pals with Paws program in conjunction with trainer and Related Service Mentors. Establish caseloads for all clinicians. Reviews monthly related service attendance and compiles year end related service documentation as required by SED. Ensures implementation of policies and procedures as set forth by Block Institute. Track provision of related services and compile reports for monthly and year-end analysis. Analyze the effectiveness, productivity levels and efficiency of clinical services provided within the educational program. All Block Employees will be required to learn and master the use of all software systems and technology utilized by the Agency, on a Program-by-Program basis. Assist in the collection and analysis of related services data in preparation for and response to audits by regulatory agencies. Transportation Coordinator Responsibilities: Liaison Management: Serve as the primary point of contact between the bus company, parents, and school administration to ensure smooth communication and efficient resolution of issues. Route Oversight: Monitor and manage bus routes to ensure timely arrivals and departures. Regularly update and verify addresses to maintain accurate routing information. System Updates: Input and update essential information in the system, including school start dates, changes in parental details, and maintaining an accurate roster. Staff Communication: Keep school staff informed about bus schedules, routes, and any changes that may impact their classes. Name Tag Creation: Design and produce name tags for students to facilitate smooth bus boarding and identification. Bus Drill Coordination: Organize and conduct bus evacuation drills to ensure student safety and preparedness
