Job Standards
- High school diploma or equivalent plus three (3) years related work experience. Associates Degree preferred;
- Must possess a valid driver's license and have an acceptable driving record
- Must meet and maintain qualifications for driving on county business as a continued condition of employment.
- All required licenses and certificates must be maintained as a condition of continued employment.
Essential Functions
- Review pleadings for divorce, domestic violence, civil protection orders, UIFSA and reactivated cases;
- Enter case specific information into Court database for tracking, statistical and reporting purposes;
- Schedule ex-parte protection orders in conjunction with Victim Services, attorneys and parties to the case;
- Coordinate motions for continuances including scheduling court hearings;
- Prepare correspondence, judgment entries and various legal documents for pending domestic relations cases for review;
- Proofread correspondence, judgment entries, Magistrate's Orders, Magistrate's Decisions, and various legal documents;
- Inform parties and attorneys of scheduled conferences, hearings and prepare entries as required;
- Docket new complaints, prepare files and distribute necessary paperwork;
- Act as Court liaison with the general public, attorneys and litigants and give and receive information in a professional and courteous manner;
- Ensure cases are tracked and resolved in a timely manner;
- Prepare monthly reports;
- Assist with other administrative duties;
- Demonstrates regular and predictable attendance;
- Attends various training sessions, video conferences, and workshops;
- Hold as confidential, all aspects of the job;
- Performs typing, word processing, data entry, and related computer operations
- Bailiff duties as required (e.g. calling cases to begin trial; set up audio/video cart; ensure functioning court recording system);
- Pulls court files for upcoming dockets;
- Makes copies as needed;
- Performs other duties as assigned; and
- Works overtime and outside of typical work schedule/business hours as required.
